AA vs. AK... Guess who wins

Late last night I was playing in a NL Hold'em ring game.

One player limps in under the gun. 2 players fold, and the next player raises 5x the big blind. The rest of the table folds around to me. I look down at AA. I take a few moments to consider my options, then opt to smooth call. The UTG player also calls. Flop comes Ac 4c Kd. I check with the intent to sandbag the preflop raiser, who I was almost certain would bet. UTG checks, and right on queue, the raiser puts out a bet of about half the pot. I re-raise all in. UTG folds, and the remaining player calls. I show a set of aces, he shows top 2 pair, AK with the King of Clubs.

The turn/river runs 2 clubs and fails to pair the board, and I lose my whole stack to the backdoor flush.

I had KsKc vs KhKd and dude got a flush with one heart. LOL. Chit happens in this game we love so much. w
