Man slashed on face on Ulster Avenue in Annalong

A man has been taken to hospital after he was slashed across the face in County Down.

Police have said the man was walking on wasteground at Ulster Avenue in Annalong on Saturday evening when he was assaulted by two men.

The victim was also hit on the head during the attack. His condition is not yet known.

Police have asked anyone with information to contact detectives in Newry.

Meanwhile, a man has been threatened with a knife in an armed robbery in the Sandy Row area of south Belfast in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A mobile phone and bank cards were stolen from the victim who was uninjured.
