Based in Nashville, Tennessee -- the Titans is a professional football team which was established in the 1960s under the American football league Eastern division where it played until 1969. The team was previously known as the Houston Oilers but it was an bought and moved to Nashville, this action gave way to the institution of the Houston Texans which joined the NFL as an expansion team.
